K: Pitch Perfect, a new movie based on the popularity of Glee.
M: Yep, I have yet to see that show but this movie is about a college with a very competitive glee club music scene…it’s a capella singing here, and this movie is kind a-ca-awesome.
K: Ugh. This movie upset me, because I missed Resident Evil and all these other stinkbombs that would be on my list and I was hoping to wreck this one, but I can’t. For what it was, I enjoyed it.
M: As far as college comedies go, it ain’t quite Animal House but I laughed a lot during this movie and got into the story a little bit; Anna Kendrick is a freshman at this college that is singing-crazy; there’s a boys club, a girls club and a mixed one and they all compete to get the national finals. Wouldn’t you know it, Kendrick discovers she does like singing, she comes out of her shell a little bit, she joins the girls club…how’s it all gonna shake out?

K: My biggest problem with this was predictability, it was obvious what was going to happen but the writing was good, a lot of good jokes…it reminded me of when I was forced to watch Bring it On.
M: Yeesh, who made you do that?
K: Ex girlfriend. But I made it throguh that movie and enjoyed it, and this was the same type of thing although this had a lot more laughs. That Australian girl Rebel Wilson is so funny.
M: She’s so talented and everything she says is simply hysterical. So funny.
K: And she embraces her character…her name in the movie is Fat Amy. Really made me laugh hard throughout.

K: And I’ll say this…the love interest? It’s a likable Dane Cook!
M: See, I go the other side and say he looks like our buddy Josh Macuga.
K: How about this, put them all in there together and we’ll have Schmoeville tell us who he resembles more.
M: Is it Dane or is it Josh?
K: Or is it a crazy mutant offspring of both?

M: The bully in the film is actually a buddy of mine, a very funny comic named Adam Devine and I’m happy to say he’s very funny in the film.
K: Yeah, most of you guys might know him from Workaholics as well, and he was a good bully without resorting to all the cliches associated with that type of character.
M: If he’s in a town near you doing stand-up, go check him out…funny dude.

K: Is this one of those movies you have to rush out and see in the theaters? No.
M: I think you go with a group of friends. Get the gang together and have a barrel of laughs.
K: Dudes? Group of dudes? No.
M: You laugh a lot! You don’t lose a dude card just because you saw Bring it On!
K: Group of girls, yes. Dudes? No.
M: Then I guess I’ll make other plans Friday night.
K: Good.

K: Yes, you know where this movie is going the whole time but it is funny and I enjoyed it for what it was, 3/5 Schmoes.
M: I’m going higher, at 3.35/5 Schmoes…made me laugh hard and I really liked Pitch Perfect.
K: How about you Schmoeville? Are you excited about this movie? Do you think it will hurt Anna Kendrick’s career?
M: How could it hurt her career? It can only help…
K: Easy, easy…I asked Schmoeville.
