Not having seen the film yet myself, I can’t fairly say whether it’s good or not. But this movie is based on an *excellent* novel, with a unique concept and presentation. From the sounds of it, you Just Didn’t Get It. I suppose this would be the case if you enjoy the kind of pablum that movies like Looper spoonfeed you, but some people actually enjoy entertainment that, you know, requires a little more thinking than the common cat and mouse cartoon.

If your complaint is that it’s too long, blame that on the book being six full novels craftily and skillfully wrapped inside each other like Russian nesting dolls. If your complaint is that the Wachowskis confused the issue by re-using actors and juggling scenes from those different sections, then you missed the entire point of the narrative!

Perhaps I badly want this movie to be as impressive as the book, and that’s why I take exception to your review. But if your complaints are solely of the nature “I didn’t get it”, then I suspect it may actually be a good film after all.
