D-9 meets Cloverfield, Monster. And here is the grand question: What the hell is this thing? I hope it is cool, it looks like it could be fun. Here is the trailer.
I am curious. When I first saw the opening shot of the Monsters Trailer, it reminded me of that video game Rampage I used to play at the Arcade. It also made me remember the rumors that Cloverfield was supposed to be Rampage. Why hasn’t that movie been made? That could be fun. Ok I digress, my question is what will the monster look like? Honestly, that is what ruined Cloverfield for me. The monster at the end looked terrible. Bad CGI and if you have this build up for 90 minutes and then it is followed up by something unsatisfying to the eye, then it is a disappointment.
“Well we may be dated but we still look better then Roland Emmerich’s Godzilla.”
But, the Monsters trailer had that Cloverfield feel but then quickly takes you into the realm of D-9. It has a small budget but shot in a real tone, straying away from commercial special effects. This is why I have faith in this movie and think it could be fun.
Well done trailer that has me on board to want to see the film.
